Leslie Clayton (Bridges) Kohler, age 73, a lifelong resident of Carrollton, Missouri and Glendale, Arizona, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Leslie was born on August 10, 1949 to Leslie Combs (Hudson) and Frank Clayton Bridges, Jr. She was born and raised in Carrollton, Missouri. After graduating from Carrollton High School, she married the love of her life, Gary Lee Kohler, on August 3, 1967. They moved to West Virginia where they would have their first child, Frank Ordell Kohler. Later they moved to Kirksville, MO where Leslie received her bachelor's degree in mathematics from Truman State University. In 1973 their second child, Mary Rebecca Kohler was born. Her love of education led to her to teaching at the Kirksville Junior High School. In 1976 the family had moved to Glendale, AZ for Gary's career. And in 1978 they would have twins, Leslie Combs (Kohler) Henderson and Mayme Catherine Kohler.

Throughout her life, Leslie's love for her hometown gave her the opportunity to give back to the community that had been her home, as well as her ancestors, for many generations. She worked diligently with the Carrollton Library to increase the genealogy records and worked with the Hudson/Bridges Foundation for many years. After her sisters passing, Leslie took over the genealogy on her family. Her love for it led to her reaching out to family members all over the country and some in Europe. She was also a member to many historical societies as well as heritage communities.

Leslie was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca Ann (Bridges) and Albert Cullison Goodin, and her parents, Leslie Combs (Hudson) and Frank Clayton Bridges, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Lee Kohler of Glendale, Arizona. Leslie is also survived by her four children and their spouses, Frank Ordell Kohler and his wife, Regina Yolanda (Gritts) Kohler; Mary Rebecca Kohler and her husband, William Stuart Kensler; Mayme Catherine Kohler; and Leslie Combs (Kohler) Henderson and her husband, Justin Henderson. She leaves behind her niece and nephew that were loved by her like her own children, Leslie Catherine (Goodin) Miller and her husband, Jarrod Miller and their children, and William Cullison Goodin, and his wife Bethany (Nigles) Goodin and their children. Leslie also leaves her three cherished grandchildren, Alexander Julian Lee Kohler, Sarai Lee Kohler and Courtney Renee Ekstrom.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Carrollton, MO.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Hospice of the Valley.
