Thomas Arthur Coker was killed along with his brother-in-law, John Charles Henderson, husband of his sister, Arvazana, in a car accident.

Two Men Killed in Auto Crash Near Mineola
Dateline Mineola TX, 30 March 1931

J.C. Henderson, age 61, of near Quitman TX, and his brother-in-law, Arthur Coker, age 50, of Roby TX, were killed instantly Sunday night [29 March 1931] in an automobile accident 2 miles north of Mineola on Highway 37.

Coker had just arrived for a visit with his family. Coker, J.C. Henderson & two of Henderson's sons were in the car when the axle broke, throwing off the right tire. The car turned over several times. The two Henderson boys were slightly injured. Both men were dead when the ambulance arrived.

Their bodies were taken to a local undertaker. J.C. Henderson will be buried in the Quitman Cemetery, while Coker will be buried at Roby TX. Both men leave large families & were prominent farmers in their respective areas.
