Betty Northcutt was born Betty Jean Knudson on November 25, 1948 in Viborg, South Dakota. She was the fifth child of Stanley and Verla (Holt) Knudson. Betty spent her childhood growing up on farms near both Centerville, and Beresford SD.

She attended Centerville Public Schools, Ash Creek country school and Beresford High School. When her family moved to Brookings in November of 1965, Betty attended and graduated from Brookings High School in 1967.

She was joined in marriage to David Bozied in 1968. Their marriage was blessed with a daughter, Bobbi Jean. During their marriage, Betty helped David start his first business, B & B Concrete.

Betty married Teddy Woodrow Northcutt (Woody) on February 15, 1980 in Denver, Colorado. They spent 31 wonderful years together. Betty worked several different types of jobs including as a receptionist and banker. The job she loved most was providing cleaning services with her close friend, Barb Allen. She was also a very talented seamstress and handywoman. There was no project too ambitious for her, and this was before You-Tube how to videos! Betty was primarily a caregiver. She lovingly cared for her husband Woody through several years of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. After Woody's death in 2011, she returned to South Dakota to care for her aging parents while living in Arlington. Betty moved back to Denver in 2017 to be close to her daughter, son-in-law and three of her grandchildren. She was a loving mom and bonus mom but cherished being a Nana most of all.

Betty passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord on February 4, 2023 after a difficult battle with biliary duct cancer.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband Woody Northcutt, her past husband David Bozied, parents Stanley and Verla Knudson, and sisters Vera Nelson and LaVonne Knudson.

Survivors include her daughter Bobbi (Chad) Miller of Arvada, Colorado, bonus son Tedd (Stephanie) Northcutt of Butte, Montana, eight grandchildren Ryder Colbert-Perales, Kendall and Lilly Miller, Jessica, Daniel, Benjamin and Brianna Northcutt and Kelsey Vasquez, three brothers: Kenneth (Joan) Knudson; James (Tyke) Knudson of Brookings SD; Gordon (Jeannie) Knudson of Sioux Falls SD; one sister Gail (Steven) Monteith of Arlington SD; brother-in-law Bennett Nelson of Cherokee, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of the life will take place on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 2:00pm at Arvada United Methodist Church, 650 Carr Street, Arvada, CO 80004. A small reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in her name to the International Rescue Committee (help.rescue.org) or The Third Story (the third story.org)
