August was accidently killed when pinned between a fence and a dray. He died near Slacks Creek on the way to the Brisbane Hospital in the back of a buggy with head and internal injuries. His death certificate does not record his parent's names. He was 29 years old. He is buried not far from Maria Magdalina Panzram. She could possibly be his niece as the article on his death in the Logan Witness of 20th Dec 1884 on pg. 3, suggests that August had a brother living at Rosewood Scrub near Blenheim where Martin Panzram, Maria's father took up 160 acres of land.
