Elizabeth Ayers Wright
September 1, 1930 - April 7, 2020

Elizabeth Wright, Liz to those who knew and loved her, left this world Tuesday April 7. She was a life-long resident of Wythe County having been born near the New River on Rt 52 near the Shot Tower August 31, 1930. She married her love December 21, 1950 in Mountain City TN. Together they built a life.

She was preceded in death by her love Glenn Wright and her son Allen Wright along with sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews. Liz is survived by her daughter, Nancy Steele(Phillip) and her daughter-in-law, Louise Wright as well as a sister-in-law, Doris Newman. Her surviving family includes Amber Steele Kerns (Christian), Camille Steele, Regina Wright Moore (Jason), Ricky Scott, Sharon Shupe and Michael Scott. 11 great-grandchildren survive. They are Olivia Kerns, Ian Kerns, Sawyer Kerns, Evelyn Kerns, Dakota Spurlock, CJ Moore, Abigail Moore, Ronny Shupe, Greg Brawley, Michelle Scott and Andrea Scott. She is also survived by Terry Rose and Bob Ayers, niece and nephew.

In order to comply with the current Covid-19 mandate the family is having a private grave-side service Friday morning at the Draper Valley Pentecostal Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Open Door Café, 650 West Main Street, Wytheville VA 24382. Liz was always about feeding folks. No one ever left her home hungry.
