George Henry Peck married Sarah Cramer March 17, 1869 and produced three children. Henry Cramer Peck b. 1/8/1870, George Hiram Peck b. 8/29/1874 and Mary Julia Peck b.12/9/1880. He was the son of Henry Wagman Peck and would have been present with his parents at the acquisition of the Welcome Stock homestead in 1849.
SCHUYLERVILLE, July 6.—
George Henry Peck, aged 80
years, one of the best known
farmers and one of the oldest resi
dents of Saratoga county died at
his home In Bacon Hill at 8:30
o'clock this morning, standard
time. Mr. Peck was born in the
town of Saratoga, January 20,
1835. Since he was a year old, he
had resided in the town of Northumberland.
He was a member of
the Dutch Reformed church of
Bacon Hill.
For the past five months Mr.
Peck had been confined to his bed.
Death was caused by hardening of
the arteries. At the time of his
illnes3 he retained his memory and
faculties. His wife died July 14,
1914. Mr. Peck never sought public
life preferring to pursue a quiet
agricultural life.
His survivors include two sons,
Henry O. Peck, and George H.
Peck, Jr.; a daughter, Miss Mary
J. Peck, all of Bacon. Hill; seven
grandchildren, Mrs. Clifford Rugg,
Willard H. Peck, Miss Mildred C.
Peck, G. Harold Peck, R. McNeil
Peck, F. Bernlce Peck, and Frederick
J. Peck.
The funeral will be held Wednesday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, standard
time at the late residence. The
Rev. A VanArendotik, pastor of the
Dutch Reformed church, Bscon
Hill, will officiate, assisted by the
Rev. Jacob VanNess of Gansevoort.
Burial will be at Bacon Hill cemetery.
