Henry C. Peck, Ex-Supervisor, Dead at 82
Henry Cramer Peck, 82, former supervisor of the Town of Northumberland, died yesterday at 6:00 a.m. at his residence at Bacon Hill. He had been ill in the Albany Hospital for six weeks and returned home last Friday.
Mr. Peck was active in the Northumberland Reformed Church, town government, the Grange and county agricultural group. Born in the Town of Northumberland on January 8, 1870, Mr. Peck had lived there all his life. He was an elder in the Northumberland Dutch Reformed Church and had been a member of the consistory of the church more than 50 years. He had been a frequent delegate to the General Synod of the Reformed Church of America. He was a member of the committee in charge of the recent renovation of the Northumberland Church.
Mr. Peck was a director of the Saratoga County Agricultural Society for many years. He had
served as chairman of the Saratoga County Farm Bureau and as president of the Saratoga County.
Farm and Home Bureau and 4-H Club Association. Mr. Peck was supervisor of the Town of Northumberland for four years, and had also served as town clerk. He was a charter member of the Saratoga County Pomona Grange and the State Grange. He was a former GLF agent.
President of the Saratoga County Mutual Fire Insurance Co. for 10 years, Mr. Peck had been active in all local undertakings. He was president of the former Saratoga Creamery Association.
His wife was the late Sarah Mary McNeil Peck. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Clifford E. Rugg and Miss Mildred C. Peck, Bacon Hill; three sons, Willard H. and G. Harold Peck, Bacon Bill, and R. McNeil Peck, Liverpool, N. Y.; a sister, Miss Mary J. Peck, Schuylerville; a niece, Mrs. Cornelius Dykhulsen, Canajoharie; a nephew, Frederick Peck, Bacon Hill, and 16 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m.in the Northumberland Reformed Church. The Rev. M. Hoeksema, will officiate. Burial will be in the Bacon Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call at the residence at any time after 4 p.m. today.
The body will be taken to the church Sunday at 1:30 p.m
