Luther Morton Kemp Sr., 72, of Taswell, died Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was born October 21, 1950, in New Albany, to the late Jacob and Etta May Jennings Kemp.
He was a retired medic with the Jefferson Special Police, was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Clark County Police Lodge #131 both in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the Indiana Sheriff's Association, and the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Harry and Edward Kemp; and his sisters, Ruth Ann Rochner, Mary Ellen Kemp, and Marsha Irene Kemp.
Survivors include 6 sons; 5 daughters; 12 grandchildren; his brothers, James Henry Kemp, Sr. of Taswell, Kenneth Wayne Kemp of Arkansas, and Dennis Lee Kemp of Beechwood, Indiana; and his sister, Anna Thevenot of Corydon.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2023. Burial will be in Highfill Chapel Cemetery near Taswell. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
