Erlean Barco "Pansy" Capps, passed away January 17, 2023. She was born August 17, 1930 at Cape Henry, VA to the late Hope Barco and Erlean Washburn Barco and lived her entire life in Virginia Beach.

On November 25, 1950 at Galilee Church, Pansy married Henry Capps, who later passed away in 1981. She was also preceded in death by a son, Hank Capps, a brother George "Buddy" Barco, and a daughter in law, Florence "Honey" Capps. She is survived by her son, Hope Capps, and several nieces she was very close to including Mary Hope Stabel (Pete), Chrystie Belote and Susan Whalen (Dan). Also surviving are great nieces and nephews and numerous other family members and friends.

Pansy volunteered for over 20 years at Virginia Beach General Hospital and the Old Coast Guard Station. She loved to knit and was always making infant baby caps for Virginia Beach General and later the Princess Anne Hospital. She loved to walk in the neighborhood and at the Recreation Center and could often be seen walking with her dog "Junior".

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday January 24, 2023, at Galilee Episcopal Church followed by the burial at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad, 740 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
