Reverend Lawrence Wayne "Skipper" Phillips, 85, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, January 17, 2023. He was born on August 8, 1937, in Texas City, to Faye Myer Phillips and Homer Phillips. He proudly served his country in the Marine Reserves. He retired as the Reverend from First Baptist Church of Loeb.

Survivors include his wife, Coy Phillips.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Max Phillips, Roy Phillips and S.J. Phillips.

A gathering of Mr. Phillips' family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Broussard's, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 22, 2023, at Broussard's, with interment to follow at Kirbyville City Cemetery, Kirbyville.
