Philo retired as a supervisor from Mobile Chemical in Beaumont after 42 years and was a member of AFLCIO local union.
Philo was an avid fisherman and served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
Burial to follow at Kirbyville City Cemetery in Kirbyville, Texas at 4pm.
Philo is survived by his sons Steve J. Phillips and his wife Betty of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, Paul D. Phillips and his wife Terri of Vidor, his brothers Roy Phillips of Kirbyville and Lawrence "Skipper" Phillips of Lumberton, Texas, daughter-in-law Beth Phillips of Vidor, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife Lula Jo Phillips, his son Bobby Phillips and his brother Max Phillips.
