Dock Grier, age 84, of West, passed away Saturday morning, January 14, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Tokio Baptist Church near West, with Rev. Terry McElrath officiating. Burial will follow at Bold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Dock was born February 4, 1938 at Rogers Hill near West, the son of Vernon and Clara (Erwin) Grier. He attended the old Alligator Creek school, Tokio school and was a 1956 graduate of West High School. On July 14, 1962 he was united in marriage to Judy Young in Tokio. Dock was a very faithful member of the Tokio Baptist Church and also attended the Ridin High Cowboy Church in China Spring. He was a farmer and a mechanic for M&M Mars Company in Waco for 23 years before retiring in 2000. Dock enjoyed fishing, going to church, camping, being outdoors, playing dominoes, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and West Trojans. He loved spending time with his family, especially attended his grandchildren's and great grandchildren's many activities.

Dock is preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Rick Maler.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Judy Grier of West; three daughters, Sara Prosser and husband Todd of Valley Mills, Debbie Mynar and partner Kermit Wolff of Gatesville, and Cindy Harris and husband Billy of West; a sister, Clara Nell Wachsmann and husband Bill; his grandchildren, David E. Maler and wife Tammy, Derek Maler, Melissa Mojica and husband David, Michelle Maler and partner Matt Vrana, Daniel Maler and wife Tina, Jennifer Buchanan and husband Rob, Lane Grier, Katherine Rodriguez and husband Anthony, and Cody Harris and wife Kylee; his great grandchildren, Timothy, Halley, Zak, Kenleigh, Colton, Zoey, Ava, Piercen, Avery, Tagen, Mack, Kadence, Wren, Hogan, Macen, Maddie, Cambri, Brody, and Kaiden; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are David E. Maler, Derek Maler, Daniel Maler, David Mojica, Rob Buchanan, Lane Grier, Cody Harris, Matt Vrana, and Anthony Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers are his granddaughters and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tokio Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who cared for him, especially Cindy Harris and Michelle Maler.
