It is with great sadness that the Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church Family, under the Leadership of Rev. Dr. Paula B. Smith announces the passing of our beloved Mr. Samuel Abernathy. He transitioned peacefully last night, January 13, 2023, with cherished family members at his bedside.
Samuel was the Treasurer of the Bedford County Training School Class of 1950.
Funeral Service for Coach Samuel J.V. Abernathy will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
Visitation will begin at 11 AM followed by a noon funeral at:

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting gifts of memory be made to the Women's Track and Field Foundation at Tennessee State University.
