Sue Bogue Denning, age 79, passed away Wednesday at Rex UNC Hospital.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Marvin Bogue and Mary Evelyn Sauls Bogue. Her mother died when Sue was 14 and her mother became the late Lenora Edmundson Bogue.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert "Bobby" Denning.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Sonya Gwen Denning, Paula Sue Edwards and husband, David, and Donna Gail Denning; a sister, Maxine Ward; a special friend, Susan Penman; five grandchildren, Kenny Grady, Christy Jones, Will Edwards, Taylor Gainey, and Tyler Gainey; and eight great-grandchildren, Channing, Bryson, Elijah, Ava, Emmie Jae, Tate, Maddison Grey, and Easton.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Rose, Rev. Andy Westbrook, and Mr. Will Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the Denning family.
