• FORT WORTH, Texas -- Services for Ringling native Vernon Davis will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas.
Davis died July 5, 2001, at his home. Raised in Oklahoma, he served in the military in Japan, Germany, Korea and with the Big Red One in Vietnam during his 20 years of service. He then worked for General Dynamics and at Carswell Air Force Base.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; a daughter, Pam Goidell, Middletown, Ohio; two sons, Stan, Denver, and Brian, Houston; three brothers, Doyle, Wichita Falls, Dearl, Ardmore, and Bill, Pearland, Texas; four sisters, Lazunea Crownover, Shirley Harper and Mary Slover, Fort Worth, Laquanea Doyle, Azle, Texas; and two grandchildren.
