Obituary for Kenneth "Doyle" Davis
Ringling - Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth "Doyle" Davis, 86, of Wichita Falls, TX are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wed. June 6, 2018 at the Ringling Church of Christ in Ringling, OK with Joe Wilkerson and Kent Hairod officiating. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the care and direction of Alexander Funeral Home of Ringling, OK.
Doyle was born on Dec. 16, 1931 at Wilson, OK to the late Mr. William Marcus Davis and Mrs. Opal (Vowell) Davis. He departed this life on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at a healthcare facility in Wichita Falls, TX.
Doyle was raised primarily in Ringling, OK as part of a migrant farming family, moving back and forth several times from Oklahoma to California. He joined the United States Marine Corps on October 27, 1952 at Dallas, TX. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and was discharged on October 28, 1954. Doyle returned to the Ringling area and soon married the former Ms. Marvella Provence on Dec. 27, 1955 at Fox, OK.
Doyle began his education at Draughns Business College of Wichita Falls, TX, before attending the University of Oklahoma where he received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting. They made their home in Wichita Falls where Doyle gained employment initially for Talbott Oil & Gas Co. He later was employed for Wichita Falls Savings and Loan Company where he served as Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Afterwards he worked for First Savings of Burkburnett where he served as the Executive Vice President before forming his own reality and investment company. In 1980 he opened Doyle Davis Reality, a company where he provided real estate appraisals, real estate investments and real estate sales. Doyle was always very involved throughout the city of Wichita Falls.

He served as the president of the Wichita Falls Jaycess where he was a life member and was a mason belonging to the Masonic Lodge #1158 AFMAM and was furthermore a Shriner at Maskat Shrine and Temple. He held membership at the Victory Baptist Church of Wichita Falls and served on the Wichita Falls Board of Realtors. Doyle was a beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed farming, gardening and attending family reunions.
Those who preceded him in death were his parents, daughter, Merna Lynn Davis; his wife, Marvella (Provence) Davis on July 27, 2007; brothers, Ray and Vernon Davis; sisters, Shirley Harper, LaQuanae Doyle and Wanda Davis; sisters in law and brothers in law, Jenny Davis, Elmer Provence, Mary Belle and Richard Ketchum, George Provence and Howard Rhone.
Survivors include his daughter, son, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, Sisters in law and brothers in law, grandchildren, great grandchildren,Numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are encouraged to be sent the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor New York, NY 10001 and/ or the American Cancer Society PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123
