Algerino was born in Guardiagrele Provincia di Chieti, Italy. In Italy he worked in construction, and later he and his brother opened up their own business as sales men.
Algerino came to Canada in May 1957 and started to work for C.P.R. as a track maintainer and machine operator retiring in February 1987 after 30 years of service.
Algerino was a parishioner of St. Dominic's Church and a member of BMWE Union Local 128. In his younger years Algerino played soccer for his hometown back in Italy and he never lost interest in the game throughout his life.
His favourite past times were sitting on his deck soaking up the sun, or watching soccer or his favourite daytime soaps on television.
Algerino is survived by his wife of 41 years Antoinetta, children Gina (Gino) Pizzi, Maria (Bruno) Fornaro, Roseanne (Rob) Heughan of Toronto and Lina Greer of Thunder Bay.
Also surviving are Algerino's sisters Balbina, Grazietta and Maria, all in Italy. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive in Italy.
He was predeceased by his parents, one brother, one sister, three brothers-in-law, one nephew, one niece and two sisters in infancy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2003 leaving the Blake Funeral Chapel at 9:30 a.m. for Funeral Mass in St. Dominic's Church at 10:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Daniel Lapolla c.s.
Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Vigil Services will be offered on Friday November 21, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. in the Blake Funeral Chapel.
