Willard Earl Matthews, Sr. age 94, of Brandenburg, KY, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, at his residence. He was born September 5, 1928, in Cloverport, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol Matthews; and son, Charles Matthews.
Willard retired from Olin Chemical after 40 years of service. He left leaves behind his dog and loyal companion, Tye. Willard enjoyed working around his home building things, loved playing pool, and had a loving caregiver, Yvonne Sanders.
He is survived by five children: Willard Matthews, Jr. of Biloxi, MS, Amy Matthews of Biloxi, MS, Cary Matthews of Louisville, KY, Mike Matthews of Payneville, KY, and Jess Matthews of Bloomfield, KY; two stepchildren, Deborah Carwile and Melissa Taylor of Brandenburg; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held for the family. Burial Saint George Cemetery.
