Anna Margaret "Peg" Boese, daughter of John and Catherine (Mitchell) McElhaney was born December 19, 1925 in Michigan and died on January 7, 2023 at the Centerville Care & Rehab Center, Centerville SD, at the age of 97.

Funeral services will take place at Heritage Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery.

Peg grew up in Michigan. After high school graduation she served in the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during the years of World War II.

She was united in marriage to Noah Norman "Norm" Boese on January 10, 1948, in Saginaw, MI. As a Registered Nurse her career spanned a lifetime of providing care. After retirement she also volunteered as a senior companion. Her favorite pastimes were reading, playing scrabble with friends and baking cookies for her family to enjoy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Norm, five sisters, Mary Ellen Faber, Catherine LeRoy, Isabella Thomas, Cecilia Bailey and Loretta Woodin and one brother, Charles McElhaney.

Grateful for having shared her life are 5 sons: Marty (Rita) of Geddes, SD, Bob (Marla) of Sioux Falls, Dave (Jean) of Yankton, SD, Andy (Brenda) of Sioux Falls and Barry (Kay) of Windsor, CO; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
