Loretta Madonna Woodin, 81, of Rosebush, formerly of Weidman, died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000, at the Mecosta General Hospital in Big Rapids.
A Funeral Mass for Loretta will be Monday at 11a.m. from St. Henry's Catholic Church in Rosebush, with Father Jeffrey Donner officiating. Interment will follow in St. Henry's Cemetery. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in memory of Loretta may consider Friends of Isabella Seniors.
Loretta was born on Dec. 21, 1918, in Isabella County, the daughter of John and Catherine (Mitchell) McElhaney. She married Leo Allen in 1939. She later married George Woodin in 1968. George predeceased Loretta in 1987.
Loretta worked as an L.F.N. supervisor from 1955-1975 at the State Home and Training (Mt. Pleasant Center). She had also worked at Holley Carburetor in Clare for eight years.
Loretta is survived by her children, Catherine Cairns of Rosebush, Madonna Meyer of Sault Ste. Marie, Barbara Louiselle of Big Rapids, and Raymond Faber (Pat) of Mecosta; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Charles McElhaney of Mt. Pleasant; and one sister, Anna Margaret Boese (Norman) of South Dakota.
Loretta was preceded in death by her husband George Woodin; her parents; her four, sisters, Mary Ellen Faber, Catherine LeRoy, Isabelle Thomas and Cecilia Bailey; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
