Her obituary (Frankfort Morning Times, 15 Nov 1935, p.1) reads:
"MRS. W.S. AUGHE
TAKEN BY DEATH
Heart Attack Fatal to the
Mother of Walter Aughe,
School Trustee

Stricken while working in the kitchen of her home, 1358 McKinley avenue, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Aughe, wife of William S. Aughe, died at 5:30 o 'clock Thursday afternoon. Death was due to a heart Attack, coroner James Kent said.

Mrs. Aughe, a native and life-long resident of Clinton county and Frankfort was past 70 years of age.

Funeral services will be held at the family residence at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. C.R. Defenderfer officiating. Interment will be in Bunnell cemetery.

Active in church work and affairs of the Woodmen Circle lodge, Mrs. Aughe was widely and favorably known throughout the city. She was a member of the Lutheran church, the Woodmen Circle and Ladies' Aid Society.

She was born north of the city, September 19, 1865, a daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Bachman) Amey. She was married to Mr. Aughe December 11, 1889.

The husband, two sons, Walter Aughe, a member of the city school board , and Charles, of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Ghere, of Jefferson; one sister, Mrs. Charles Wallace, living west of Frankfort; a brother, Oswell H. Amey, of Frankfort, and seven grandchildren survive her."
