Margaret K. Batt, 87, passed away Monday, May 2, 1994, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East in Mason City.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 4, at St. John Lutheran Church in Burt, with Rev. Jeffrey Pulsen officiating. Pallbearers were Brian, Russell, Thomas, Douglas, Rick, Randall and Steven Reimers. Burial will be in the Burt Township Cemetery, rural Burt, Iowa.
Margaret Katherine Reimers was born March 2, 1927, in Fenton, the daughter of William and Anna (Looft) Reimers. The family moved to Burt in 1935. She graduated from Burt High School in 1945. She married Howard James Batt on September 10, 1950, in Burt. She served as Burt City Clerk for six years. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. She enjoyed needlecraft, crocheting and reading.
She is surviving are her husband, Howard Sr.; two daughters, Barbara (Steve) Taphorn of Algona and Chryl Batt of Forest City; two sons, Howard Batt Jr., of Herington, KS, and David Batt of Kansas City, KS; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Harold (Shirley) Reimers of Humboldt, Carrol (Virginia) Reimers of Brigham City, UT, and Donald (Janice) Reimers of Burt.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
