Mr Johnson was born in Illinois on February 9, 1875, and moved to Iowa with his parents, Mr and Mrs Jurgen Johnson, being married at Remsen, Iowa, to Miss Anna Uthe on November 28, 1901. They moved to Madison 21 years ago and on a farm south of that city, in Lakeview township. Mr Johnson was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving are his widow; three sons, Dell, Alvin and Harold, all of Madison; three daughters, Mrs Mary Kirstein, Mrs Minnie Wood and Mrs Antoinette Merchen, all of Madison; five grandchildren; six brothers, John A. Johnson, George Johnson, Henry Johnson, Harm Johnson and Enoch Johnson, all of Remsen, and George Johnson of Salem, and two sisters, Mrs Etta Becker, of Salem, Ore., and Mrs Annie Heldt of Wentworth.
