Shirley Willene Keene was born August 25, 1940 to Everett James George and Willie Ernestine (Chenowith) George in Fairland, Oklahoma. She began her heavenly life on December 7, 2022 passing at the earthly age of 82 years, 3 months, and 12 days, leaving her home in Edmond, Oklahoma with her loving family beside.
Shirley grew up mostly in the Miami and Grove, Oklahoma areas with a brief stay in Kansas. Shirley and Bobbie Lee Keene were united in marriage on June 12, 1957 celebrating more than 65 years of life together. They began their lives together spending 11 years in Tulsa before moving back home to Grove. Shirley was a homemaker spending her time taking care of the place while Bobbie traveled with his construction job. She enjoyed growing flowers and crocheting. Never sitting still. Bobbie and Shirley moved to Edmond 7 years ago to be near their daughter and family. Shirley had a strong faith and was a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Grove before moving to the Heritage Baptist Church in Edmond.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother Burl George.
Shirley is survived by: Her husband Bobbie Keene of the home in Edmond: Her daughter and husband Cheryl and Ralph Parks of Guthrie; Her grandson and his wife Steven and Tasha Parks of Edmond; Her great granddaughter Nova Parks of Edmond; Her sisters Marilyn Zapponi and Carol Cook of Edmond; Along with many other relatives and friends.
