John P. Bucaro, 84, of Burlington, Wisconsin passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at Arbor View in Burlington.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 3, 1938, he was the son of Martin and Dorothy (nee Drautzburg) Bucaro. His early life was spent in Chicago, where he graduated from Lane Tech High School. He was united in marriage to Luz Santiago on May 14, 1977. Following marriage, they made Chicago their home for 43 years.
John worked as a route truck driver for the Chicago Tribune for 50 years and was a member of Local 706. He was also a member of the Queen of All Saints Catholic Church. He was an adored husband, caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, loving brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend to many.
John is survived by his wife, Luz; children, Joan (Ron) Bucaro-Lopez, Jennie McCarty, John (Susan) Bucaro, Ida (Fernando) Mileham, Thomas (Doreen) Bucaro, Patricia Bucaro Horning, Frank (Tiffany) Mercado, and Mara Beth Bucaro; grandchildren, Larina (Goldenstein) and Christopher Mileham, Christina and John Bucaro, Glen Gilbert, Jessica Lopez, Marissa and Nick Horning, Tommy and Brianna Bucaro, and Kayla Gayton; great-grandchildren, Hayden and Grayson Goldenstein, and Matteo, Luca and Emma Gilbert; and sister Dorothy Bucaro. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Robert and Edward, sons-in-law Pat McCarty and David Horning, grandson, Anthony Mileham; and siblings Shirley, William, Marty, Andrew, Linda, and Debbie.
A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chicago in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the American Kidney Fund at http://www.KidneyFund.org or to the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.org .
