Ruth Benigna (Trujillo) Romero, 97, passed away on December 10, 2022. Ruth was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Rafaelita (Portillo) and Lorenzo Valdo Trujillo, on September 21, 1925. She graduated from Loretto Academy.
She worked as a dental assistant until marrying the love of her life, Joe Francisco "Pancho" Romero.
Ruth and Pancho raised six children together.
Ruth was a stay-at-home mom and once all the children were in school, she worked at several part-time jobs. Ruth had many hobbies including sewing, gardening, crafts, painting and she loved to read.
She was a woman of great faith and loved her Catholic upbringing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafaelita (Portillo) and Lorenzo Valdo Trujillo; husband, Joe Francisco "Pancho" Romero; daughter, Angela; grandson, Diego; and siblings: Eliza, Ernestine (Frank), Mickie (Bob), Tobias (Rosela), Elvira (Ross), Cecilia (George) and Larry.
She is survived by her children: Ralph (Velda), Roberta (Rick), Leonard (Carmella), Kenny (Marianne) and David (Sherrise); sister-in-law, Gloria Trujillo; cousin, Jennie Serna; grandchildren: Rachel (Mario), Joe Alex, Dominique (Victoria), Jeff, Gabe (Janett), Nick (Jessica), Sarah (Nick), Jon (Jene), Jessica (Thomas), Tylara (Sean), Emilee (Mike), Tanya (Noel), Justin, Joshua, and Mark; 15 great-grandchildren; and many very special nieces, nephews, Godchildren and friends.
