Linnie Griffith (Mrs. Miles Taylor) in 1944. Linnie was born September 2, 1878, in Indiana. She died in November 1967, in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana. Her exact date of death is not known. Her Social Security number was 316-54-4363. In the last year or so of her life, she was hospitalized (or institutionalized). Until then, for many years she had lived in a small apartment in Fowler, Indiana, above a "Grab It Here" store. That store was located at the corner of Adams and Fourth Streets, in Fowler.

Linnie was married and widowed twice. She first married Rueben LeRoy Cramer on September 16, 1901, in Tippecanoe Co., Indiana; she was 23, and her groom was 22. He died less than four years later, in June 1905.

She secondly married on September 25, 1907, to Miles Taylor, who was five years her senior. He died in 1944. Linnie was a widow for the last 23 years of her life.

There is no record of Linnie ever having a child. However, reportedly, she once told the wife of one of her nephews that she had given birth to a daughter, but that the baby had died right after birth.

According to the 1940 census, Linnie had three years of high school. Linnie's mother died a few months before Linnie's 16th birthday. It may be that Linnie left school to help with the care of younger siblings.
