He graduated from Treadwell High School in Memphis, TN in 1959. He went on to attend Memphis State University 1964-1968 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.
He started his career in medical sales for Roche Labs from 1970- 1985. National Contract Manager for Konica Minolta Medical, negotiating national Contracts for corporate hospital and medical companies from 1985 until retirement on 8 August 2008.
He was a member of various originations and held many positions in these including, Past President of Tennessee Genealogy Society, past member of Museum Board of Directors, Germantown, past ex-officio member of Germantown Library Board, past member of Board of Tishomingo Historical and Genealogical Society, Member of American Dowsing Society, Ames Plantation member, Camp Genealogist for Robert E Lee Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Division Genealogist (State of Tennessee) for Tennessee division of the SCV. Camp photographer for the Lee Camp of the SCV. Photographer for Tennessee Genealogical Society, member West Tennessee Historical Society.
His post retirement interests included genealogical research, photography, lecturer on genealogy and military. Cemetery research including grave dowsing, grave probing, mapping cemeteries. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed taking pictures of birds, bees, flowers, and nature. He was much beloved by friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Services and burial will be held at Memorial Park in Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
