Anastasia V. Cibik
Mrs. Anastasia Vican Cibik, 80, of 382 Monroe Ave., Leechburg, died Saturday, Dec. 23, at 6 a.m. in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, where she had been admitted earlier at 2 a.m. after suffering a heart attack in her home.
Born in Slovakia April 15, 1892, to Michael and Anna Kovac Vican, she came to the United States in 1910 settling in New York City.
She married her husband, Vincent Cibik, on April 5, 1913, in Passaic, N.J. They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past April 5. They have lived at their last residence since June, 1954, previously living n Riverview, Parks Twp., and on the Lover's Leap Road, Gilpin Twp.
She was a member of St. Martha Roman Catholic Church and the First Catholic Slovak Union, Branch 600, both of Leechburg.
Surviving are her husband; five sons, Vincent Cibik Jr., West Leechburg, Milton S. Cibik, Ice Pond Road, Gilpin Twp., John C. Cibik, Riverview, Parks Twp., Joseph D. Cibik, Lover's Leap Road, Gilpin Twp., and James M. Cibik, Sarver; Two daughters Mrs. Anthony (Mary) Venis, Riverview, Parks Twp., and Mrs. (Pauline) Mravintz, of Pittsburgh. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters also surviving. They are in Slovakia.
A son, Charles A. Cibik, died on Jan. 2, 1970.
Prayers were recited in the Dean W. Cline Funeral home, 260 Market St., Leechburg, Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. in St. Martha catholic Church, with her pastor, the Rev. Rudolph A. Halvonik as Celebrant. Burial as in St. Catherine Cemetery.
