Joanna May Shuyler, 92, went home to her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Ascension Via Christi St Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. She was born in Parkerville, Kansas to John Clarence Fowler, Jr and Eula Anne (Thompson) Fowler. She attended schools in Council Grove, Kansas and graduated from Council Grove High School. After graduating, she attended Baptist Bible College. She was united in marriage to Merton E. Shuyler on April 22, 1954. He passed away on September 11, 1999 after a brief illness.

Joanna worked at the Reno County Soil Conservation District office for a few years and quit to be a homemaker. She enjoyed doing her artistic drawings, needlepoint and was a very dedicated prayer warrior. She was a member of the Haven Baptist Church for many years. She spent most of her life in Hutchinson, Kansas, After the passing of her husband she moved to Valley Center, Kansas, where she was close to her daughter Gena and her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Irene (Fowler) Endicott, brother John Clarence Fowler III, and Merton her husband.

Joanna is survived by her daughters, Joy Moore (Johnnie) of rural Buhler and Gena Hemphill (Gaylon) of Wichita; her grandchildren Steve Moore, Shaun Moore, Sumer Foster and Gavon Hemphill; great grandchildren Devon Moore, Serina (Ross) Heide and Cody (Kaylee) Moore; great great grandchildren Kolby Heide (son of Ross & Serina Heide), Walker and Easton Moore (sons of Cody and Kaylee Moore), Drake and Samuel Foster (sons of Sumer Foster); and sister Gladys Dodds of So. Hutchinson; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation 5-6 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Baker Funeral Home Valley Center. Graveside service 1 pm, Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W 4th Ave. Hutchinson, KS 67501.

In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Joanna Shuyler Memorial Fund in care of Baker Funeral Home, 100 S Cedar Ave, Valley Center, KS 67147.
