The Paris News, September 1964. Mrs. W. D. Posey, 67, of Blossom, the former Miss Cora Spears of Caviness community, died Wednesday at 8:50 p. m. in Lamar Medical Center in Paris. She had been a patient there two weeks, after several weeks of ill health. Friday, at 2:00 p. m., is set for the funeral in Fry and Gibbs Chapel here, the Rev. George Lewis, pastor of Blossom Methodist Church, where Mrs. Posey was a member, to associate. Burial will be made in Union Grove Cemetery east of Paris.

Daughter of Henry and Lillian (Caviness) Spears, Mrs. Posey was born at Caviness, August 28, 1897, and was married November 14, 1924 to William David (Willie) Posey. She and Mr. Posey lived in that area until it was incorporated into the Camp Maxey reservation during World War II. They had lived since then at Blossom.

Surviving are Mr. Posey; her children; eight grandchildren, and a brother, Roy S. Spears, besides an aunt, Mrs. Tee Earnest, who reared her. She was preceded in death but her parents.
