William Hubert Malicote, age 100 of Hamilton, OH passed away on November 30, 2022 at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on July 23, 1922, in Jackson County, KY, the son of Sampson and Mary Anne (Hellard) Malicote. He was a graduate of Ashery School and Orleans High School (Orleans, IN), class of 1941. In 1942, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving during WWII in the submarine service at Pearl Harbor. Following his service, he returned to Hamilton to his employment at Diebold, Inc., where he worked for 50 years, retiring as shop supervisor. He married Francis June Napier in 1943, after meeting her at Ross Ave Church of God (now Eaton Rd. Church of God), where they remained faithful members for over 80 years, with him serving in numerous leadership and teaching positions, including spearheading the construction of the current church building. He is survived by his 3 children, son Sam (Sue) Malicote, and daughters Jo Elaine (Dale Robertson) Malicote, and Theresa Gay (Jim) McBride, 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 12 siblings, and 2 great-grandchildren. In his retirement, nothing brought him more joy than his family and his workshop. He enjoyed deer and caribou hunts, and fishing trips to Florida with son Sam, and bear hunting adventures with Sam and the "Ohio Boys." He spent hours on his tractors with daughter Jo taking care of the homeplace, mending fences, feeding horses, and working his bees. He also loved listening to daughter Theresa play the piano. In his shop, Hubert taught multiple generations how to fix and build anything, from rehabbing mowers to building furniture to overhauling vehicles, starting with son Sam and daughter Jo, to grandson Brent and granddaughter Annie, and finally great-grandsons Zeke and Kellen. Hubert preceded June in death by only hours, marking the end of their 81-year love story. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Eaton Road Church of God from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Eaton Road Church of God, 2000 Eaton Rd., Hamilton, OH 45013, or the Cincinnati Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, ℅ Mr. Michael J.
