H, 9th Indiana volunteer infantry, Aug 1861, for three years until Dec 1863. He then re-enlisted as a veteran for three years longer, until Oct. 1865, when he was honorably discharged. He afterwards came to Haddam, Kans., where he farmed until his marriage to Colista R. Sholl, Nov. 21 1878. After his marriage, he moved to Thayer County Nebr., 7 miles east of Hubbell, where he built a mill, which he operated for a number of years and then he moved to Hubbell where he has since resided. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Hubbell, at ten am Sunday, July 7th, conducted by Rev. W.H. Clark, former pastor, assisted by Rev. Ben Wallace.
