The well-known entrepreneur in the Haitian business world Michaël Madsen, CEO of the National Brewery of Haiti (BRANA) died on Saturday March 24 following a cardiac arrest, we learned very early on Sunday . Michaël Madsen comes from a family of industrialists who landed in the country in 1889 and settled in Jacmel. After his studies, he gradually climbed the steps of the business sector, selling cooking oil, soap, margarine and mantec at the Croix des Bossales, until becoming the central pillar of the Companies Madsen. Founded in 1973, this company, which he masterfully managed for several decades, has greatly contributed to making Haiti shine throughout the world thanks to a product that needs no introduction: Prestige beer. A quarter of a century after its creation, this product has enjoyed international recognition by winning the World Beer Cup 2000 in front of 19 competitors. Brilliant businessman and reckless visionary inspired by who knows what spirit, Michaël Madsen achieved the feat of setting up a brewery in a country that did not yet even know beer and transforming people ignorant of beer in crazy lovers of Prestige.
