WATERLOO — Doris Abbott Sawyer, 79, of Chatfield, Minn., formerly of Waterloo, died Wed.,
Sept. 16, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minn., of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 13, 1918, in Harmony, Minn., daughter of Clinton S. and Agnes A. McKay Harrison. She married Merton M. Abbott on Dec. 1, 1937, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 11, 1986.
She then married Carl Sawyer on Nov. 10, 1990 in Waterloo. He died June 14, 1993.

Mrs. Sawyer was a credit manager for Jerry's Furniture and Hurwich Furniture, retiring in 1985.

Survived by: a daughter, Patti D'Aguanno of Knoxville, Tenn.; a step-daughter, Karen Sawyer Kono of Waterloo; three grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Cocker of Rochester, Minn., Theo Hazel of Lanesboro, Minn. and Margaret Ischer of Seattle, Wash.; and four brothers, Wayne, Lyle and David, all of St. Charles, Minn. and Roger Harrison of Thousand Oaks, Calif. Preceded in death by: three brothers.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials: may be directed to First Baptist Church.
