B.M. Canipe, Jr., 90, passed away November 20, 2022.  He was born in Spruce Pine, NC the son of the late Burns Mack Canipe, Sr. and Verdia Patrick Canipe.  He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Mary Johnson Canipe; sisters, Iona C. Price, Gladys C. McKinney, Rosie C. Biddix; and brothers, Albert Canipe, Howard Canipe, Carroll Canipe, and Ernest Canipe.

         B.M. was a United States Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.  He later went on to work and then retired as a manager for Planters Peanut Company.  B.M. became a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in 1964.  His devotion to the church and love for his church family led to numerous years of serving as a Deacon, Usher, and working behind the scenes with many Mission activities.  He also served on the Safety Team and the Building Committee.

           B.M. loved going to the Outer Banks, playing cards, gardening, and yardwork.  He was an avid Washington Redskins fan.  He enjoyed doing household projects for all the family.  Most of all B.M. loved spending time with his family and spoiling each one.

         B.M. is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Karen C. and Larry W. Soblotne, Denise C. and David E. Temple; grandchildren, Scott and Heather Wiggins, Tyler and Kate Temple, Kristen Temple and Brett Houser; great grandchildren, Gavin and Mason Wiggins; sister, Connie C. Bunch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

         Burial with military honors will be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
