BRIEF LIFE HISTORY OF NEWTON HICKMAN HOOSER

When Newton Hickman Hooser was born in January 1889, in Missouri, United States, his father, Redmond David Hooser, was 37 and his mother, Elvira Jane Shipley, was 31.

He married Helen Amanda Hudson on 12 October 1911, in Belzoni, Pushmataha, Oklahoma, United States. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 3 daughters. He lived in Tuskahoma, Pushmataha, Oklahoma, United States in 1930 and Tuskahoma Township, Pushmataha, Oklahoma, United States in 1940.

He died on 13 September 1956, at the age of 67.

PUSHMATAHA COUNTY COMMISSIONER DIES

ANTLERS, Okla. --- R. N. "Newt" Hooser {Note: The Gazette must have made gotten his name wrong. Everything I've found has Newton Hickman Hooser was his name}, 67, of Clayton, Pushmataha county commissioner, died unexpectedly late Thursday, while in Wilburton.

The funeral was held Monday in the school building at Tuskahoma, Coffey Funeral Home here having charge of arrangements.

Hooser, resident of Clayton since 1910, leaves his wife, Helen, and these children: R. D. Hooser, Tuskahoma; Ernest Hooser, Eagletown; Hickman Hooser, San Diego, Calif.; John A. Hooser, Lenopah, Okla., and Mrs. Ernestine Hunkipillar, Durant; 10 grandchildren and five brothers and sisters.
