Roger Wayne Ackerman, 76, of Parkersburg, WV passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1946 in Wood County, WV. A son of the late George B. Ackerman and Vera J. (Wright) Ackerman.
Roger enjoyed working with his hands and making things. He especially loved woodworking and watching NASCAR and most of all, spending time with his family. He was employed with the Wood County Board of Education as a supervisor, and formerly worked at Ralphs Grocery Store.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda S. Thompson (Michael) of Mineral Wells, WV; a son, Kevin W. Ackerman (Mindy) of Vienna, WV; grandchildren, Heather M. Thompson of Newport, NC; Holly A. Whitt (Levi) of Eleanor, WV; Haley A. and Hunter W. Ackerman, both of Vienna, WV; one great-grandson, Clayton M. Knotts.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith D. (Johnston) Ackerman who passed November 4, 2005.
Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, South Parkersburg with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will take place 6 PM – 8 PM Friday, November 18, 2022 and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
