She was born January 10, 1901, in Troy, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Ira and Effie Queen of West Virginia and St. Petersburg, Florida.

She was formerly of Charlotte, NC, but has resided in the Asheville area since 1974.

She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother.

She was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church.

She was married to Harry R. Abbott, of Belpre, Ohio, who died in 1931, by whom she had three children. In 1933 she married Torrence Ingold of Charlotte, who died in 1971.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond A. Abbott of New York and Captain Donald I. Abbott (Ret.) of Maryland.
