Rev. Hayden Luther Sparks
November 13, 1932 — November 11, 2022
Rev. Hayden Luther Sparks, 89, of Frederick, passed peacefully to his eternal life in Heaven on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Heartfields At Frederick. He was the husband of the late Betty Jean "Phoebe" Sparks who died in 2017.

Born on November 13, 1932, in Upperco, MD, he was the son of the late Sherman Cooper and Helen Elizabeth Martin Sparks.
He was a 1949 graduate of Sparks High School then attended: Philadelphia Bible Institute, Bob Jones University, Kings College in NY and Houghton College. A Methodist minister he served 40 years with the Baltimore/Washington Conference retiring in 1996.

Rev. Sparks was very faithful and loyal the church and his family, he enjoyed studying the Bible and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His two favorite verses were John 3:16-17. He was a man of integrity, kind, generous and giving of his time and talents, he had a passion for supporting many missionaries across the globe. He also enjoyed reading, listening to the radio and hunting.

Surviving are three daughters: Susan Garvin and husband Dan of Winston Salem, NC, Sharon A. Trent and husband Brad of Leesburg, VA, and Lori Robinette and John Siegert of Bloxom, VA; daughter in law Susan (Knight) Sparks of Rocky Ridge; 14 Grandchildren: Sonnet French and Jimmie, Hayden Garrett and Megan, Nathan Sparks, Shon Somerville, Shanna Somerville, Isaac Garvin and Kelly, Chela Garvin, Westley Tibbs and Cindy, Anastasia Trent, Maeve Henry and Nathan, Selene Sparks, Joseph Robinette, Benjamin Robinette and Rex Robinette; 15 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Hayden was preceded in death by his son, Randy (Hayden R.) Sparks on February 17, 2016.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, November 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A celebration of Hayden's life will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD 21716. Interment will take place on Monday, November 21, at Blair Memorial Park in Altoona, PA.
