Passed away November 9, 2022 in St Paul, MN. Preceded in death by beloved wife Addie, parents Medor and Elizabeth Mercil, siblings Mildred, Yvonne and Virgil. Survived by brother Gerald Mercil, children Wanda (Joe) Mayhew, Mike (Sherry) Mercil, Twyla (Ivan) Pyatt and Jim Mercil, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren. Wendelin was born in Brooks, MN. After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in the Korean War. Thief River Falls, MN was where Wendelin and Addie raised their family, and he worked forty years for the Soo Line Railroad. Wendelin was a humble, gracious man who cared about everyone he encountered. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed. A special thank you to the Lyngblomsten staff and Allina Hospice team for their loving and compassionate care. Mass of Christian Burial at Lyngblomsten chapel, 1415 Almond Avenue, St Paul, MN, Thursday, November 17, 10:30. Private burial at a later date at Fort Snelling. Memorials can be made to Lyngblomsten.
