Clara L. Cooper, 91, Humboldt, Kansas, died Monday, February 4, 2008, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Missouri.
She was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Humboldt, Kansas, to Louis Fred and Agnes Marie (Mueller) Bruenger.
She attended Center Grove Rural School.
On May 27, 1945, she married Ray E. Cooper at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, Kansas. He died Oct. 10, 1989.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, KS, where she was baptized on Oct. 15, 1916, and confirmed on May 18, 1930. She was a charter member of the Lutheran Guild, taught Sunday school for 17 years and was a faithful worker for Mission Of Love, and the church quilting group.
Survivors include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence and Verna Bruenger and Melvin and Patricia Bruenger, all of Humboldt, KS; a sister, Elsie Bruenger, Humboldt, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Hal Ray Cooper; a brother, Russell Bruenger; and a sister, Della Frederick.
Funeral will be at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Humboldt, Kansas. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Humboldt, Kansas, under the direction of Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapels, Iola, KS.
Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
