Mrs. Debra "Debi" Diane Harvey Poteat, age 69, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away November 9, 2022.

She was born in Oklahoma City, OK, on February 3, 1953, to the late Earl Harvey and Thelma Bennett Knowles.

Debi was a caregiver by nature; she took care of her kids, her mom, her sister, her uncle, and anyone else around her who needed help. In her younger years, all she wanted was a place of her own.

She and her husband, Bruce, worked hard to make their dream come true, and she always had a modest place of her own to live. She like raising dogs and for years; she and Bruce raised white German Shepherds. She also enjoyed quilting and pottery. She was active in her kid's school and was an office in the Women's Firefighter Auxiliary. Most of all she was a good wife and loved being a homemaker. She loved her grandkids and would do anything for them.

Debi was a member of New Canaan Baptist Church, but because of her battle with the effects of cancer treatment, she was unable to attend much. She was a Christian and loved the Lord just the same.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her sister, Marcia McGoldrick[-Holmes].
