W Kesley Schoepf Attends Funeral of Deceased Motorman, Henry G Haas

The funeral of Henry G Haas, who was a motorman, with Badge No 1, on the Sixth street line, was very largely attended yesterday. W Kesley Schoepf, President of the Cincinnati Traction Company, attended the funeral services and walked with the mourners from the late home of the deceased, 2402 Spring Grove avenue to the St Boniface Catholic Church, a distance of about a mile and a half.

The funeral cortege was headed by the First Regiment Band. Henry G Haas was an active member of the Street Car Employees Benevolent Association and Mr Schoepf attended the funeral as a member of the same organization, desiring by so doing to pay tribute to an efficient employee and one who had zealously worked for the Employees Benevolent Association and the betterment of his co-workers.

The presence of Mr Schoepf, the head of the street car company, at the funeral raised a great deal of favorable comment among the railway employees.

The dead motorman became ill some time ago with typhoid fever. The blood in the right leg became clotted in the veins, causing gangrene. While the man was in a critical state it became necessary to amputate the leg, this being the only hope of saving his life, but he was too weak to survive the shock. He died Sunday. The interment took place at Delhi.

Additional notes:
- Death record states he was buried in Delhi Township. His parents and wife are buried in Our Lady, so it was assumed he was buried here, too.
