Doris Chrisman, a lifelong resident of Kerens, passed peacefully to her heavenly Father on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. She was born July 2, 1930, the youngest daughter of J.E. Griggs and Myrtle Josephine Wright Griggs. Doris was born with a gift for bringing laughter wherever she went. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and made conversation and friends with all who crossed her path. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the many neighbors and friends who loved and watched over their Nana the past few years. Many thanks also to the staff of Heritage Oaks Assisted Living Facility and Family First Hospice for their compassion and exceptional care.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert Allen Chrisman and her son Mark Chrisman.

Doris is survived by two daughters, Kris Lockhart and husband Kevin, Karla Macke and husband Scott. She leaves three grandchildren, Lindsay Macke, Lane Borrello and husband Kyle, and Todd Lockhart and wife Bryanna. Doris has four great grandchildren, Pierce Dean, Derek Robert, Evan Elisabeth and Leighton Audra. She also leaves two brothers, Jack and Bill Griggs, both of Kerens.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Kerens with a Celebration of Life immediately following at 11 a.m. Mr. Jimmy Glenn and Bro. David LeFore will officiate and burial will follow in the Kerens Cemetery. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church of Kerens. Arrangements by Paschal Funeral Home, Kerens.
