A daughter of famed William Marshal, Earl of Pembroke, Joan led a rather quiet but short life, dying at age 24, probably in childbirth. She was the 5 sons and 5 daughters of the Earl and his wife Isabella. She married Warin de Muchensi (d. 1255) and her daughter Joan (1230-1307) married Wm.of Valence, the fourth son of King John's widow, Isabella of Angoulême, and her second husband, Hugh X of Lusignan, Count of La Marche.
