She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Robert Camp, son Cal Camp, and two cherished grandsons Price and Wilson Thornal.
Mary is survived by her daughter Molly Thornal (Mike), son Richard Camp (Irma), and daughter Mary Jane (Sue) Portwood (Matt); grandchildren Merritt Newell (Mike), Warren Thornal (Carrie), Georgia Portwood, John Portwood, Maggie Camp, Coleman Camp, and Conley Camp; and great grandchildren Molly Cate and Virginia Newell, Price and Lane Thornal.
Mary, known by most as Gran, faced the joys and sorrows of life with grace, strength of conviction, and a clever sense of humor. She loved deeply and was loved by her family and friends, children, and grandchildren. She was devoted to the many friends she helped at Manna, a ministry of her church home, Bradfordville First Baptist Church (BFBC). Most of all, she will be remembered as woman of unshakeable faith.
She was a member of BFBC where she served as a trustee and sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Literary Club, The Colonial Dames of America, Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae, Monday Afternoon Bible Study with Jane Harding, former member and chairwoman of Leon County Library, former Member of the Violet Garden Circle, and a member of the Philanthropic Educational Organization, and sustaining member of the Junior League of Tallahassee.
A memorial service will be held at Bradfordville First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 5.
