MRS. JESSIE SPRENKLE

Mrs. Jessie Kate (Delhi) Sprenkle, 77, 327 Commerce Avenue, wife of Samuel G. Sprenkle, died at the Waynesboro Hospital at 11 o'clock Saturday evening.

She had been ill for the past year and a half and critically ill the last three weeks. She was a patient at the hospital since Thursday.

She was born in Edgemont, daughter of Samuel and Liza Jane (Finafrock) Diehl. Her early life was lived at Edgemont and her early married life at Adams County where they had farmed. Forty-five years ago they returned to the vicinity of Waynesboro where Mr. Sprenkle continued farming and the last two years she had resided at her present address.

She was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband; the following children: Mrs. Earl Kipe, St. Thomas; Mrs. Frank Martin, Mrs. Aaron Peiffer, Omar P. and Herman A., all of Waynesboro; Mrs. Fred E. Brake, South Pasadena, Calif.; and Mrs. Chancellor Brawner, Washington, D. C.; Mrs. Benjamin! Chisin, Atlantic City; Lester J. Sprenkle, Wayne Heights; 43 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Milton Ferguson, Waynesboro; and Mrs. Jacob Fleagle, Smithsburg R. D.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Grove Funeral Home in charge of Dr. B. Clinton Ritz. Burial at Fountaindale Cemetery.

Friends may call this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock at the funeral home

MR. AND MRS. SAMUEL SPRENKLE
MARK 59TH ANNIVERSARY

Yesterday afternoon, the family of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sprenkle, 327 Commerce Street, gathered at their home to celebrate the couple's fifty-ninth wedding anniversary.

Flowers decorated the home, and many gifts were received by the couple.

Thee Sprenkles were married in Gettysburg on August 16, 1894. Most of their married life was lived in Adams County. They moved back and forth to Waynesboro several times, coming here last in October of 1952 from Rouzerville.

Mrs. Sprenkle is 76 years of age and her husband is 79. He is employed by the Wayne Tool Company.

The couple has nine children. They are: Mrs. Earl Kipe, Chambersburg, Route; Mrs. Frank Martin, Waynesboro; Mrs. Aaron Peiffer, Waynesboro; Mrs. Fred Brake, Fort
MacArthur, Calif.; Lester Sprenkle, Waynesboro, Route; Omar Sprenkle, Waynesboro, Route; Herman Sprenkle, Waynesboro; Virginia of Washington, D, C., and Mrs. Ben Chesin of Atlantic City, N. J.

The Sprenkles also have 45 grand-children and several great grand-children.

In addition to local guests at yesterday's affair was Mac McClosuskey of Philadelphia.
