Age 97, daughter of the late James and Mae Smith Hill. June graduated from Albion High School. She served with the United States Naval Reserve during World War II. She retired from the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad as a secretary. June was a member of the New Apostolic Church in Erie, an auxiliary member of the Albion American Legion Post 567 and auxiliary member of the Meadville American Legion Post 111. She was involved with her church and the Girl Scouts, she enjoyed plastic canvas, crocheting, baking, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Ed Bennett, a son, Charles Bennett, and five brothers, James Hill, George Hill, Robert Hill, Harold Hill and Willard Hill.
She is survived by three children, Gary Bennett of Nevada, Melodee Pencille of Albion, Patti Irwin (Randy), of Meadville, a daughter-in-law, Diane Bennett of West Middlesex, PA; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
