Son of Edd Arrowood and Ora Mae Lewallen Arrowood. He was a truck driver for North Georgia Wholesale Company, and later retired from Toccoa Housing Authority. He was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Darlene Joyce McClellan Arrowood; son, Ricky Arrowood; brothers, Jimmy Arrowood, and Brofford Arrowood; sister, Eva Mae Moore; and many other siblings; he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survivors include his son, James Arrowood of Tiger; daughter and son-in-law, Arlene Whitlock (Martin Boulware); grandchildren, James Whitlock, Jamie Whitlock, and Rebecca Boulware; and great grandchild, Destery Massey.
